Considering she was the first Kenpachi, its reasonable to think she killed a lot of people. Maybe something happened in her past that caused her to completely change her ways, and as a means to redemption she learned how to heal people instead. After that she became the designated healer in the Soul Society so she was more valuable doing that than fighting.

Yes well I know. And I am willing to bet on it. And the reason why well there has never in soul society history ever been a medic captain class with kenpachi type ability as well this will be enough to be one of the five. Also if zaraki was considered one then unohana is definitely one.

Zaraki being a war potential doesn't mean that Unohana is one as well.

The difference between Zaraki and Unohana is that Zaraki is still an unpolished gem while Unohana is likely already at her peak. Zaraki is a monster but what makes him so terrifying (and probably why Juha labeled him a potential) is that he can still get stronger. He has no training whatsoever in fighting other than the 1 day lesson he got from Yama where he learned Kendo. If he receives training from Unohana then it's highly likely that he'll surpass even her. It's clear from last week's chapter that a fully trained Zaraki is more threatening than Unohana.
