The is a thread about the man who should win the NFL MVP award. That man is none other than Adrian "All Day" Peterson. Broncos fans give me a legit reason why Payton should win it. Fans of other teams I'm sorry but your teams top play maker won't win MVP.
Manning
Vs
Peterson

Peyton Manning #18 QB Denver Broncos
347 / 511 4016 yds 31 TDs 10 ints

Peyton Manning missed all of last season after having emergency surgery on his neck. Since returning Manning has been the same ole Peyton if not better. Peyton has also taken some pretty good hits, which coming into the season was the question on everybody's mind. Peyton manning has also brought the Broncos to an 11-3 record, which as of right now gives them a first round bye in the playoffs and they are definitely Super Bowl contenders.

Adrain Peterson #28 RB Minnesota Vikings
289 carries 1816 yds 11 TDs 4 fum

AD is coming of an injury which in most cases will end a RB career. Last year in week 16 on Christmas Day, against the Washington Redskins, Adrian Peterson tore his ACL and his MCL. For a running back tearing either one of those will put you out for extended time but tearing both well thats a career ender. However, Peterson rehabilitated, and trained to comeback stronger, and faster than ever. The "experts" predicted Adrian to comeback towards the end of November or not at all. I too was spectical on his return. AD proved his doubters wrong and rushed for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns in week 1 of the 2012 season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

AD is only 249 yards away from the all time single season record. The Vikings are currently 8-6, and are the 6th seed in the NFC playoff picture if the Vikings win their next two games and make the playoffs....weather or not he was the record he deserves MVP. If the Vikes miss the playoffs and Adrian has the record he deserves MVP, he deservers regardless. If AD doesn't win the MVP award they might as well call it the MVQB.

Sports fans give me your opinions who is the leagues MVP. Broncos fans I understand I didn't give much info on Peyton but I got the stuff that I found important, if you guys find that anything need s to be added please add that to your argument. I hope the argument I have for AD is enough for you guys to support this, again add your argument for Manning Bronco fans, Viking haters, or Manning supporters. I think we can all have a fun debate :p

First off, I believe Peyton would be in contention for the 'comeback player' this year, but as far as quarterbacks go, he's not the mvp.

If you want Quarterbacks as MVP, there is no better place to look Arraon Rodgers. The fact Manning came off of injury shouldn't factor in. It's about overall stats. Rodgers has one more touchdown than Manning does, two fewer picks, and a much weaker defense standing behind him. (Compare Denver's number four defense to Green Bay's number fourteen defense.)
It's obvious which person holds more of the team on his back. Without a substantial rushing presence or defense, Green Bay has one answer to pretty much everything; Rodgers, Rodgers, and more Rodgers.

However, he's the only player in the league whom I believe could even rival Peterson in an opportunity to win MVP. Considering Minnesota has the absolute worst pass ranking in the league, and the number twenty defense, Peterson is the only viable option. People know he's coming. And yet they still can't stop him. Greatest runningback in the NFL, now and all time, IMO.

My problem mainly is their record. Peterson has pretty much accepted the role of being the QB type leader of this team. He has accepted he is the main offensive weapon. If they don't make the playoffs, the tangibles towards his offensive capabilities are limited by the fact that he can't attribute to successful, game winning schemes like a Quarterback can on the field. Because Rodgers can call audibles and keeps plays running so smoothly on the field, he has an automatic value which Peterson, as a Running Back, can't quite match up to.

If the Vikes make the playoffs, I would say Peterson has it locked. If they don't, I would lean Rodgers. The man is a leader and the best Quarterback in the NFC. (Just above Matt Ryan in that respect.)

Packer fan I assume? If so this will be fun :zonder:

First of the the records I know the NFL factors this and well let's see
The best the packers finish is 12-4 the best the Vikings finish is 10-6
The worst the packers finish is 10-6 the worst the Vikings finish is 8-8
IMO the NFL shouldn't even factor the records of the teams.

Now more importantly Rodgers is a great player but I don't see him winning MVP Ultimatly this will be between Manning and Peterson and some may throw in Bradys name in there because well he's Brady, so he has to be in the talks.

I respect all the points in your agruement, and well I don't have a counter for Manning a Broncos fan has to do that for me. Peterson I can argue with though, coming off a 3-13 year we are now 8-6 we only have like 4 wins without Peterson. Adrian has put this team on his back and is guiding them in the right path. Like I said if Adrian doesn't win it call it the MVQB

Nope, Cowboys fan. I just take a kind of ambivalent perspective on the NFL. Not my favorite part of football. (Prefer NCAA.)
And usually it is the MVQB, for the reasons I listed above; the intangibles. And records, I agree, while they shouldn't be taken into consideration, undoubtedly are. Otherwise Brady shouldn't even be in the contention. XD

Peterson can only win if he continues to have stellar games. If he fizzles out and doesn't show up in the last couple, they won't pick him. Running backs have to be perfect nowadays if they wanna win mvp.
