He was just able to defeat obito without rinnegan. He would be struggling against obito with rinnegan. Although he may still win, but very difficult.

But, obito now doesn't have the nine tails to disturb minato. But yes, do jins etc may be too much,but who knows reaper death seal doesn't take reputation and strength into account. It is the best method for stalemate.
