Why did Madara give his Rinnegan to Nagato?

I don't know if I have missed something in the Manga but why Nagato? is it because he was a Uzumaki? Surely there could of been better candidates then him, right?

He was geentically capable of handling the eyes, plus, he wasn't a Senju. Madara hated Senju's, and they hated him. Stealing a baby from them would have been harder, too.

Its because nagato was the only one with big enough chakra reserves to summon gedo mazo and on top off that he was uzumaki he has absolute life force which makes hims almost imposible to kill he revived most of konoha with the last remening part of his chakra imagine all his chakra at full O.O and because he is from the uzumaki makes him a senju too since uzumaki and senju are distanced related along with the uchiha eyes he could not only summon gedo mazo but even control it he was perfect

Obito seems to be a good candidate for the Rinnegan as well, why didnt Madara give his eyes to Obito? That was way safer
