So I want to hear your opinions on this, what do you guys think of the plot of the story so far? Some say they like it, some say they hate it, some say they wanna see more of Sasuke and Orochimaru. What I think about it is that it's a little too predictable for me, like alliance no jutsu stopping the Juubi was something not that hard to think about. So what do you guys think.

I'm not saying that I don't think Kishis doing a good job but it could be a little better. Thanks :D

He is being really predictable.

There is a concept in writing that you leave your readers asking questions. I.E. you do not give away all the secrets.

I lost 80% of my interest in the series when Obito was revealed. Not because of him being Obito, I just preferred Tobi not being known. It made him more mysterious and interesting. I also dont like Nagato being so heavily beat up on for the sake of Madara glory.

Honestly there are glaring flaws in the plot development that could have been avoided.

I think the best part of the plot is the character development. Obviously thinking of creative fights is necessary to a point because running straight at the enemy and rasengan/chidori-ing them to the face would get old fast, so the development of more elaborate strategies has helped. But I really think that is just a side show, and that the real action is in character development.

I think the best part of the character development is that no one is just evil. Everyone has had something traumatic happen because of the flaws of the world which has in some way broken them. I also think Kishi has captured beautifully the power of the human spirit to overcome circumstance. This can be seen in Naruto's life, but also in the way Naruto inspires other people with his powerful spirit. I also like the way that although Kishi has made a ton of characters that are basically the same as Naruto, he does a good job making sure that many worldviews and philosophies are shown. Danzo, Hiruzen, Orochimaru, Nagato, Obito, Jiraiya, etc. and so on all have pretty different philosophies.

So I think character development and ideological variety are both the strengths of the plot. As well as being able to portray the high emotion moments like Haku's death or Jiraiya's death.

I agree, but it is his first major manga so there's still much to be expected.

You make a reasonable point but the repetition is starting to bore me, like the battles are becoming so high scaled that that they barely use strategies anymore, it's become a let's blow something up scenario.

Yeah all the emotional appeal in this War arc has been pretty contrived. I found the best one was actually the Mifune/Hanzo fight... I really liked the people are like swords/ death is when you lose purpose analogy. Aside from that I've really just kept reading because of momentum. There is way too much fighting in this Arc with op justsus. I do think Kishi might be able to pull off something still though. I am pretty interested in how Sasuke is going to turn out. He seemed to be poised to be an interesting character again.

The plot I'm fine with, I just think Naruto and friends vs Obito and the Jubi has dragged out for too long. My other problem is I feel Naruto has regressed in development. During the Pain-before fighting the fox arc, Naruto seemed a lot calmer and more understanding of his enemies. Now he's just as rash and impulsive as his part 1 self.

My only issue is how long this fight is taking. Its been interesting but this fight has taken place over a year.

It's just that all of the really cool characters have bit the dust.

No more Nagato/Deva Pain

No more Itachi

The coolest character of all Minato Namikaze dies at the beginning of the series...

The Edo Kage...
