Itachi wins. All people say about in a Pain vs Itachi thread is chibaku tensei. Itachi has counters for it : a few yamasaka's magatama fired successively ( the tomoe like things susano fires ) can take it down. Totsuka was able to cut several heads of the 8 branches tech, so it owns the black ball in chibaku. Mirror + susano > ultimate shinra tensei. Amaterasu + tsukuyomi beats the summons and some paths. Plus Itachi is smart and has knowledge about the rinnegan. Itachi wins this one for me.

So you want Itachi to have a move that can put the whole world under a Genjutsu?.....If it works on the entire world....it'll destroy pain regardless of the numbers.

Itachi is very skilled and would likely find a way to beat Pain/ Nagato in a fight, without infinite Tsuku. Itachi has never lost a fight and even against a OP enemy like Kabuto, he was winning every step of the way, while Sasuke was sucking chunks.

Basically, the way Kishi has made Itachi, is such that he has been shown to never lose his fights and always have an answer or something up his sleeve. he even had Kotoamatsukami and Izanagi....two moves (although one not really his, but nonetheless) that can easily win a fight with almost anyone.

No srsly,amaterasu eats away chibaku tensei core.Shinra tensei cant do a shit against Yata mirror. And how dafuq would Nagato even get a shot on Itachi with susanoo.Itachi is smart and knows he should be away enough from Nagato.
