Who is stronger, Jiraiya in SM or Naruto in SM

Just like the title says, please also note that Naruto is at his strength before training on the island with Bee.

Aka no Kyuubi mode for Naruto.

Just looking for some opinions on the matter, some evidence/proof would be nice too.

Edit: Not comparing their Sage mode levels, but the 2 characters as a whole and how they fair in a fight.

I was under the impression J-man lost due to his lack of knowledge about the 6 paths of pain. Naruto, however, had that knowledge passed on to him.

Well, Naruto mastered Sage Mode to a greater extent than Jiraiya.

The only real advantage Jiraiya has is that he can fuse with the toads and stay in SM for a longer period of time. Also, on top of that, Jiraiya has a whole host of other techniques that Naruto does not have, hence why Pain said he would have been defeated by Jiraiya if he knew his "secret". But that's just a product of being older and having time to learn techs.

Though Naruto may now be able to use the frog-fusing technique as well now that he's become friends w/ Kurama.

jiraiya had no knowledge of the abilities of the 6 paths, whereas naruto did prior to the fight. Also naruto only beat them because he used the nine tails' chakra, which he used because hinata was taken down in front of him

technically Naruto Mastered it.
But Jairya sM was better because he never drained out of chakra
And with Naruto the Fox didnt accept their chakra, however things could be different now

Naruto. It was stated before by one of the Great Toads that unlike Jiraiya Naruto has mastered the sage transformation. Hence why J-man had frog like features and Naruto doesn't when he's transformed.

if its the mastering of the SM it is obvious naruto was better in SM than Jiraiya ....
if u dont take my word for it see the manga page .... even pa says Naruto may eclipse Jiraiya

but in a fight i would give Jman the advantage .... Jman can stay in SM as long as he wants bcos he is fused with pa and ma ...thats like fighting 3 well experienced people also Toad Song and other variety of jutsu from Pa and Ma gives Jman a better chance
on the other hand naruto has to rely on his clones which can be 3-5 max i think

Naruto, the only reason Deva Path trapped him was because he ran out of Sage Mode and Pain killed Pa (because he had seen the Toad Song before). If not for that Naruto would have won.

I am well aware of the restrictions placed on this comparison. I merely added a suggestion at the end of my comment that Naruto could possible do the fusing now

hmmm naruto had a better sage mode than jiraiya does but that isnt the question

i believe that jiraiya is stronger in SM just because he has a stronger base than naruto.. the only reason y jiraiya lost to pein was because he lacked knowledge and he was against his own student who had knowledge on him ..

so conclusion.. naruto has a better sage mode however jiraiya is stronger or should i say was stronger

Great Q. As for senjutsu power I would say naruto but when u talk jutsu in SM that as to go for jiraiya. but if i have to pick jiraiya .
