Here’s a quick theory on the first born’s Doujutsu, and why the Uchiha have been given a larger role in the story. I believe that Rikudoū Sennin formed his sons with Banbutsu Sōzō (Creation of All Things).
Plot:
The above image shows the Rikudoū inside (a locked power perhaps, waiting for his successor?) the Jūbi. The Jūbi that is displayed here is shown to have six tomoes, but when it was first shown it had nine. It could be that before it was casted it to the moon, Rikudoū Sennin evenly distributed transferred some of its power to the Elder Son, Younger Son, and the Bijū during their birth (Banbutsu Sōzō); thus resulting in the Jūbi’s six tomoe’d eye. Consequently; linking into the newly revived Jūbi that is “incomplete.”
Furthermore, why does Rikudoū’s power fully manifest itself in an Uchiha Body? Madara was fixated enough to gain Shodai’s DNA for this reason, and before his fight with Hashirama, he had already figured out Kurama’s existence.
Indicating the possibility that Madara may have read the tablet, which may be why he confronted Hashirama in the first place.

Ocular Power:
メスメリズムの眼 “mesmerative eye”
占いの眼 “eye of divination”
The Sharingan is not a regression from the Samsara eyes or Rinnegan, but rather its own distinctive eye birthed from the Elder Son’s genetic abnormalities.
The two above have lavish subsections that led it’s “other” name.
天の瞳 “Pupils birthed of the heavens” differing from the eyes.
The Rinnegan perished with the Rikudoū Sennin, before it resurfaced in Madara, now some may say Sharingan is a mixed variation of it. This is untrue.
The Elder Son birthed a unique Dojutsu that retained his Father’s abilities, but would only realize its greater value when fused with the other half (Senju powers).
Though even without it, the author makes a point to show us the position of the Uchiha’s sovereignty over the world when Obito and Madara sit atop the progenitor of the world. Thus, presumably indicating, the Elder Son’s philosophy of power is vividly dominating the world before it.
