But Sasuke doesn't feel that way about Sakura, just like she doesn't feel that way about Naruto.

nobody said it should be Naruto and Sakura because it was from day 1. We know exactly how Naruto feels about Hinata, he doesn't feel that way otherwise he would of said something already.

That was infatuation (the day 1 thing). She later came to "love" him, however when she grew-up, her feelings changed. Naruto grew-up..

Manga wise, false. Hinata doesn't show up until the chunin exam. And verbally encourage Naruto, out of all the females, it was Sakura who first verbally encouraged Naruto (that we know of) and the first female to stand up on behalf of Naruto. Not to mention Sakura was the first of the rookie 9 to state she wanted Narutos dream of becoming Hokage a reality.

Also Hinata didn't say anything to Naruto in the 1st chapter as far as I can recall.

However you may slice it Hinata WAS wishing Naruto luck verbally, the first female to do so........

As much as I really appreciate what Hinata did here, it's not cheering. Cheering is defined by screaming your lungs out in order to support the one you're supporting.
