actually, hinata rooted for naruto in the very first manga chapter where he screwed up with that hapless bunshin. and iruka defended naruto verbally, also in the first chapter. hiruzen was amused with his sexy technique in the second chapter. sasuke gave naruto his food in the bell test, a few chapters in. and snapped at sakura for bashing naruto in like the first few chapters. kakashi praised naruto as having a lot of chakra and being the number 1 unpredictable ninja in the very first arc.

Manga wise, false. Hinata doesn't show up until the chunin exam. And verbally encourage Naruto, out of all the females, it was Sakura who first verbally encouraged Naruto (that we know of) and the first female to stand up on behalf of Naruto. Not to mention Sakura was the first of the rookie 9 to state she wanted Narutos dream of becoming Hokage a reality.

Also Hinata didn't say anything to Naruto in the 1st chapter as far as I can recall.

When you think about it, actually think about how Kishimoto has written Naruto so far, how he constantly re-uses themes, and uses other characters failures as Naruto's means to succeed and surpass them. Then it's blatantly obvious that Naruto and Sakura are more likely than Naruto and Hinata. If someone confesses there love for you in the same means as Hinata has done, well that's fine and dandy, but it won't always be reciprocated.

Sakura has acknowledged Naruto's feats and his goals for a long time now, and she clearly cares for him deeply...maybe it hasn't always been apparent that her feelings for Naruto are romantic, but the closer they become, the closer her feelings are swaying from brotherly love for Naruto to romantic feelings.

Just because she's thinking of Sasuke, does not mean she loves him, nor does it mean she does not love Naruto. In any case I think Naruto doesn't see Hinata in the same way he see's Sakura, thus I don't believe they will ever be a pairing.

I to agree with the last sentence there....Deffinatly just goes into a circle. They're is too much hints/ suggestions for both sides. I've practically given up actually arguing with people for that reason. There is a time after the post that you just have to flat out agree to disagree :/
