Did Naruto really start being able to sense charka after taming Kurama?

I was posting this question because I noticed very interesting. When watching Naruto Shippuden Episode 212, I noticed that after Naruto slipped Yamato by leaving behind a shadow clone to make him think he was sleep, Naruto was running through the woods to catch up with Sakura and Kakashi when he stated that he could sense Kakashi's charka. I thought that he could only start sensing charka and evil malice after he obtained the Kyuubi charka? Just wanted to see what everyone thought. Sorry, I don't know how to past in the video of chapter 212 or the manga.

i think SM allowed him to do that as well but KM and BM allow him to sense malice,maybe feelings

Naruto could sense chakra after obtaining Sage mode. Naruto could sense chakra and malice(evil intentions) after taming Kurama.

Sage Mode allows him to sense chakra (on a higher scale) and BM allows him to sense negative emotions

Naruto has been able to sense chakra since he completed his sage training. But I doubt he had his training before then. might just chalk it up to a chity translation.

You forgot that he has the best sensing ability (so far) with Sage mode. He was using sage mode to sense them. He did the same after leaving the training area with Bee and went Sage mode to sense everyone was in the war and same when he sensed Kakashi was dead during the Pain arc. Used Sage mode sensory to sense the 3rd Raikage's attack and countered him and to find the chakra recievers on the tailed beasts.

Sage mode allows him to sense peoples chakra for miles off, he sensed Kakashi was dead or out on a mission in the Pain arc and also sensed that there was a war going on later.

It was Sage Mode. He isn't a sensor type by nature but going into Sage Mode allowed him to sense the positions of different chakra levels.
