in naruto sakura was actually close to naruto,kakashi, and sasuke in apperances but now in naruto shippuden it went rapidly down after the sasori vs sakura and chiyo fight.

when you see a decrease amount of screen time for a character then usually then they are probably going to be killed off and i can see it like rin she had no purpose in this story rin is really sakura.(notice obito=naruto,sasuke=kakashi,sakura=rin)

sakura is just shown in the manga now to just be there she does not progress the story anymore she really does not matter, so the only thing to make her matter now is her death to allow naruto and sasuke to grow like rin did to kakashi and obito, sakura death will be the outcome to there futures.

kishi has tried to give her more screen time by giving her a movie and a episode but that is not enough he basically is killing this character slowly and by time you all will see it that naruto is obito,kakashi is sasuke,sakura is rin.

it's fine to like sakura because people think of past sakura as a cool main character but in naruto shippuden sakura is more like an average konoha 11 member rivaling kiba in screen time, she has really lost value in this series.

Well at the start of Shippuden she wanted to be more determined and useful. However, after seeing Naruto and Sasuke fight each other after the 5 Kage summit she said it herself that she can't do anything or say anything. All she can do is trust them. Since then she has been taking a backseat and letting these two decide the fate of the world.
