Myth:
"The future generations, are sure to regard as a mythical individual that appeared centuries ago in an age of endless wars. I was merely a monk, who discovered a great truth, the truth of chakra and with it; I sought to change wars to peace. I travelled many places teaching this truth, and my ideals eventually formed a Sect that would be called Ninshū (忍宗).With this, ninjutsu was birthed. My deeds and desire for peace among this war-torn era eventually earned me the title Saviour of this World from the men around me. Suddenly my desires felt dreamy, for it seemed too encouraging that my aims would be achieved. A gloomy vision appeared before me.
As time passed, wars were beginning to end, and people assumed their lives with pleasurable alacrity. However; the unaccustomed seemed to spread their haughtiness and dissatisfaction among others. They were filled with envy, hate, and jealous for multiple reasons, and as the malice swelled up, my dark vision from before returned once more. Clearly, I saw that this was no vision, but an unacquainted primordial entity that appeared before me. Its power was unfathomable, and its bodily presence overwhelming foul which alone brought despair and destruction into the world. The Jūbi."

Birth of a God:
For a brief moment, I stood in amazement. This being, swallowed the oceans, split the land, carried mountains. The power seemed to stem from its eye. It was an eye that was an amalgamation of concentric circles and tomoes, which individually, possessed an celestial power. One of them was responsible from swallowing the oceans, the other splitting the land, and the last carrying the mountains. As I awakened from this shock, I viewed the destruction it caused…
When I reached this demon, I proclaimed its defeated to the people of the world. The memories from there are grey, but I managed to subdue this mighty creature with a seal. From that moment on, I was endowed with limitless power, and seen as something beyond human… a God amongst Shinobi.

Difference:
It was only a temporary solution, for when I die, the seal will be broken and the beast will be released onto the world again. I sought a permanent solution, the dividing of this beast chakra among parts, the Bijū. However; before that could be realized, I needed successors to finish my dream. Acknowledging this, I created you two from the divided powers of the Jūbi and myself. My eldest you received its ocular powers, and spiritual energy, while my youngest received the potency life force and physical energy. The true strength will be realized when there is harmony between you two.

Edit: For some reason, I have the feeling that the implications will fly over people's head...
1.) Jubi used Kamui to swallow the ocean, and Susano'o to carry mountains.
2.) Rikudou is an Uzumaki; gaining his ocular powers afters sealing the Jubi. The Jubi is the body and eyes.
3.) Rikudou used creation of all things to create his sons, and Biju. The Jubi is responsible for the Elder Son's doujutsu, and the Younger Son's body. Both powers were divided by the Sage, and can only be reach their full potential when they are in "harmony"
4.) Rikudou planned on Biju becoming Jinchuuriki though his Younger Son descendants
