[Discussion] Sakura Should Not Surpass Tsunade

Throughout this manga we have been told that Sakura will surpass Tsunade. I do not believe Sakura is or should be capable of doing so for two reasons:

1.) Tsunade is a Senju which endows her with large chakra reserves and the best healing capabilities since Hashirama Senju (1st Hokage). Sakura is not a Senju and as Kakashi stated, she does not have a lot of chakra. Unless Sakura takes the corpse of that white zetzu and extracts the senju cells and is able to make herself part Senju in a way that surpasses how others have become part Senju (like when she was able to help Kankuro in ways that surpassed Chiyo) then there is no way for her to surpass Tsunade.

2.) Sakura may be able to surpass Tsunade's battle skills if she becomes a master genjutsu user (as Kakashi stated that Sakura was a genjutsu type) and combines it with her devastating strength, but it doesnt look like that is likely. I understand that her affinity for genjutsu is why she is such a great medical ninja, but I still don't see where anything about Sakura warrants a surpassing of Tsunade's skills.

With that being said, I do believe Sakuara could be a great kunoichi, but unfortunately Kishi sucks at building up characters, especially female characters. Thoughts...???

Agreed!!! She had so much promise considering she was ahead of Sasuke and Naruto in her chakra utilization and the promise of her genjutsu. Based on this she could have a much larger attack arsenal than she currently has.

sasuke surpassed orochimaru becuase he was an uchiha

Though you're harsh I agree except for the not healing much. She's doing pretty good on the healing, but the bottom line is that she'll never match up to Senju DNA!

Your wrong.

You know, it's because of her growth up til now that I've come to actually like Sakura. You call her useless; why? Can you tell me some good reasons, aside from her lack of screentime or the fact that she hasn't surpassed Tsunade yet? Not trying to step on anyone's toes, as I'm really not that fond of Sakura, but really: are you forgetting she hasn't had the same level of motivation as Naruto and Sasuke?

Naruto has gotten stronger to not only have people acknowledge him, as was his original goal, but also to save Sasuke, as well as the rest of his friends, fulfill promises he's made to his loved ones and ultimately to uphold peace/try to create peace. Sasuke, meanwhile, had something driving him to become strong and cunning from a very young age. He was led to believe it best to kill his brother, and so he trained constantly in order to grow stronger so he could one day take down his brother and avenge his family. He even chose to betray the people he cared about, break his bonds with them supposedly, in order to obtain power. And he did.

After the truth about Itachi was revealed, Sasuke got a new drive: anger. Pure hatred that, at one point, had driven him absolutely mad. He became evil, truly evil, but he had also become even stronger because of his desire to crush the Leaf. Even if he didn't gain strength for the right reasons, that doesn't matter.

You hear people say Naruto has surpassed Jiraiya and Sasuke has surpassed Orochimaru a lot; you don't hear them say the same thing about Sakura because she hasn't yet. She hasn't had the drive behind her, pushing her to. The reason to work so hard. But the fact that Kishimoto threw that in, especially so early on, means that there's a very good chance it will end up happening. So please, be patient and wait before you go bashing a character. The manga isn't even finished yet.

I read somewhere that Kishi said that Sakura was meant to represent the average human with a big spirit and that was supposed to be her greatest point. The other stuff that the characters in the manga talked about concerning Sakura seems more like hope and hype to me. So I don't expect her to excel too far unless Kishi changed his mind about her in a very obvious way.

How can Sakura surpass a Senju? She does not have the chakra reserves or the life span and we all know that healing your self or being healed by medical ninjutsu shortens the life span. The only reason Tsunade is still alive is because she is a Senju. Sakura would be dead in no time if she attempted to use Tsunade's rebirth jutsu. I wont be surprised if Kishi makes Sakura surpass Tsunade, but the fact still remains that Sakura has low chakra reserves, is not Senju, and is lacking in the area of jutsu in general.

Well she might exceed her medical skills, that should be possible, senju or not. Ofc not Tsunades regeneration ability, but she doesn't need that if she masters medical jutsu to an even greater extent. Sakura already acknowledged that she needed to be able to help Naruto somehow, and she has already realized this is the only way..
