I never read the original manga until after I watched the series so i'm not entirely sure what chapter it is. I know its during the chuunin exams hiatus for one month though.

Minato had a contract with the Toads. But nowhere is it implied that Minato has Sage mode. You just made a "saying" into something that implies.

back to thread again there seems to be 50/50 chance that he had sm(btw 2/3rd of frog summoners have been confirmed to have sm....)

I don't think Minato had Sage mode - if he did, why didn't he use that for example against his enemies? Never once in a fight did we see that he had Sage mode.
Also, the fact that the toads remember him, is not proof. Naruto could summon toads way before he trained as a sage. The toads could just remember Minato from the time that he used them as summons.
And with Pa saying that Naruto surpassed Jiraiya and Minato - he could be talking about his general power and not specifically about his Sage mode.

Unless the manga suddenly states otherwise, I'm not convinced that Minato ever had Sage mode.

If minato had sage mode he would have used it.he had several opportunities to enter sage mode:like. when he avoided the paper bomb trap and teleported outside.when he saved kushina and put her in bed..he had time to talk with her for like 2 whole minutes then go put his shiny coat on..perfect time to go sm

don't read into things so deeply.naruto from the back looks just like minato,who the toads are aquinted with.jiriyah was remembered because he also mastered sage mode

Naruto can go Sage Mode because of Kage Bunshin's on a nature rich mountain.
Minato cannot FTG to battlefield in Sage Mode, much like Jiraiya needed Toad summons to maintain SM
Naruto needed Kage Bunshin for SM (maybe not anymore if I read recent chapters correct)

Minato uses FTG! He cannot have Toads sitting on his shoulders plus he's a skinny dude, won't look right.

I wouldn't go as far to say its yet to come since sage mode is childs play now. I say hint in regards to the manga subliminally saying Minato had it.

Child's play for Naruto and Pervy sage and kabuto .. But to minato it's a ticket to top 5 .. Look at Naruto with it imagine minato with ftg and rasengan
