I was perusing some manga chapters and I re-read through the Danzo vs Sasuke fight, what interests me is that Obito said something along the lines of "I always thought any non Uchiha who could use the Sharingan had some secrets to tell." (would post scans but I'm quite lazy) He would've obviously known of Kakashi's use of the Sharingan and I don't see how that would've slipped his mind. I don't think Kishi would forget about this and as Obito = Tobi has probably been in the works for quite some time, he must have had it in mind.
Forgive me if something has been explained that I've somehow missed or just forgot about but what could Kakashi's origins truly be? All we really know is that his father was a great ninja on par with the Legendary Sannin and that he committed suicide after abandoning a mission for the life of his comrades.
A rather shallow theory I've come up with would be that perhaps Sakumo was Tobirama's illegitimate grandson, it's based mostly around hair and that nothing else that we know at the moment could really explain it but I want to know what you think. Am I over thinking this or will this be explained?
