It's was plain and obvious on why Obito was doing all of this. We get a clear example pertaining to that same conviction. Obito as he stated himself wants to create a dream world where everything is perfect and he can live there happily with his friends. Saying Obito is "Evil" is an excuse. Obito under the guidance of Madara is doing everything he can o make that dream into a reality. So what's so wrong with that? Why did he bluntly leave Kakashi?
Well givin to his response to Madara, he said he does not care about Kakashi. That he's going to exist in this dream world with him. So we see Obito in a selfish mindset, where he could careless about it other people and there ideals. He even lied the Nagato and his true plan from him. We see the decieveing and minipulating factor of it all. Frankly he's casting everything aside.
So why is it that individuals state he is a "cry baby"? As he said himself many people off of the New Generation don't know the hardships and tribulation of war itself. I don't think anyone can understand the pain it causes. So most people just use that as an excuse to meddle with Obito Fans. It's clear that love breeds more hatred.
And if all goes down. And everything does not go as plan. It's going to transitions to Naruto and Sasuke. And as they stay alive the cycle of hate will continue. Obito wants to end it. Seeing how he wants Naruto and Sasuke to fight at the right time.
Individuals who bluntly call Obito a crybaby don't know his story well and can't come with a better excuse then that.
