Hiruzen wasn't really a genius.
Orochimaru was, Kakashi too.

no it is not...kekki genkai runs in there jeans alot of the time if you take that away what do they have...the intellect they were blessed with is not the only thing that makes them the genius it is also there talent for ninjutsu and other fields of skill that is not made easier because of a sharingan or something..instead they was born with a unique talent that nun in there generation posses other then them

Honestly i think the only reason people dont say Shikamaru alot and say Itachi instead is because Shika doesnt have haxxed overpowered moves. So people think just becuase he is strong as hell he is nothing. My apologies to those who actually said Shikamaru on this thread. But everytime I see and Inteillectual battle thread its always sasuke and itachi or minato and kakashi. It gets kind of old fast.

i think it would of been naruto if it was not for the kyubi...it has been messing up his chakra control his whold life and he has been able to master powerful jutsu with out its help...shadowclones which although he some what stuggled with once he read the scroll he was able to make thousands after 1night...rasengan and rasenshuriken...because of the kyubi it made creating rasenshuriken harder because it made his clones go crazy and all..sage mode something even jiraya and orochimaru could not fully master..he did these things in a relatively short period of time which shows his potential imagine if he had not had the kyubi his talent for ninjutsu would be something crazy

BTW even without kurama his chackra reserve is 100x kakashis.

Well it does help having more chackra. Helps with using multi shadow clone for faster training etc.

I think their is a massive misconception with the word "GENIUS" In naruto. Rock lee was called a Genius, It's also been stated that gaara was a genius. Nej and sasuke.
These are not genius in the sense of intelligence but more in the sense of power's which i think is bullshit anyway...
If you remember back to when Jiraiya was fighting with oro in part 1, "Sannin Showdown" he said, "What's the point in training a kid that's born a genius to begin with". That pretty much says it all, there talking about the fact that he was acquired power, which is what sharingan stand's for.
This is the exact same case for Neji he was born in to a powerful eye jutsu so therefore he acquired power.
These people are not geniuses in the slightest, another thing that people seem to forget is that the only reason that sasuke seems to come of as a smart guy is because he can see allot more than any other ninja because of his eye's. so he can read movement's without even doing anything and see people's chakra, something that is a massive advantage in battle.
Technically speaking, You can argue that it's his power ect ect... Yes, i agree although! think back to the fight with diedara the only reason he won or even walked away from that right was the power of the sharingan, He was able to see the bombs underground and see the swarm of tiny bomb's.
People though he showed great feat's in that fight and it's something i strongly disagree, a mean he just reacted the same way any other ninja would if they had the ability to see where is bomb's are. It's Like Shouting out as loud as you can when jutsu you are about to do even though you made a clone to go in the bushes and hide while you were casting it. Then wondering how he knew. It's because it's completely obvious so he can easily counter it.
Sasuke is not as smart as people make him out to be at all, same thing goes for itachi. The true people are the people that don't have an advantage by seeing everything with their eye's but use their brain, to plan it all out. Kakashi is a great example, sure he has sharingan but he alone has many fault's that go against him yet he always pulls on top and comes up with a plan regradless of the situation he is in.

i do not agree with the there not genius part because itachi is a genius compared to his clans genius while sasuke and neji are just as genius as there clanmates because they are all born with a natural talent..but the once in a generation genius is very different because they have no genetic abilities that makes this genius go through there family..instead it is a concidental thing that gives them a rare ease at things that regualar ninja and even those with kekki genkai cant achieve so easy

These people even without their doujutsu are able to master all kinds of jutsu with ease, which is why they have the title genius. It's not that their eyes is their power, but it is a tool used to help them gain that power.
Neji was labeled a genius because he was able to replicate super complicated jutsus that even some of the advanced hyuuga in the main branch could do, through observation alone and was able to master the chakra control, and to a certain extent, the gentle fist very quickly, becoming very proficient with it at a young age. His byakugan allowed him to see how the jutsus worked so that he could replicate it. It didn't do it for him.
Sasuke was labeled a genius because he was able to utilize elemental jutsu at a young age and was able to hold his own in taijutsu against opponents of higher rank than himself. His proficiency with sharingan allowed him to see ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques and how they worked. He himself had to work to actually use those jutsus, not his sharingan.
I don't see the problem here. These two are born with an ability/tool that helps them understand jutsus more so than others, but that doesn't mean that it automatically gives it to them. They had to actually work at it in order for them to use it.
