Sakura has played an important part in the story and can be easily consider useful!

I made a post similar to this one awhile back (What The Hell Sakura) I personally like Sakura's character and I'm fine with the crying. But there comes a time when the crying must stop. In the beginning, her "Inner Sakura" had finally come to the surface. She was calm, collected, able to neutralize Sasori's poison and save Kankuro, and even held her own and defeated the 3rd Kazekage(puppet form) So she isn't weak, just weak minded. I hate the fact that she has been under-developed by Kishi and that erks me.

When you look at it from that persepective then yeah, but there is quite a bit left to be desired with her skills. The rescue Garra arc she showed huge growth but then she fell flat. Given what you pointed out I have to ask why wasn't there more angst then? We caught a glimpse of it with her struggling to kill Sasuke and her Naruto confession, but there was room for more if that's how her character was to proceed. Kishi also gave her the whole Naruto as a reason to grow stronger thing and then he let her fall into the background.

At that time Naruto hadn't been developing of his use of Kyuubi chakra.
The Valley of the End event happened after Jiraiya came into play and learned him how to make use of the chakra.

She did her job as many others but since she's considered to be a teammate of the two main characters of the series, which will also represent the final fight, she of course is being presented in the proper light. She will (may) surpass Tsunade, but there will still be a huge gap between her and the current main protagonists and antagonists, since even Tsuande in her old state with a lot of experience is nothing compared to them (if we take a look at the current Naruto, Sasuke, Madara, Obito and also dead like Itachi and Nagato). But she'll probably surpass the female Shinobi and will be on of the strongest one in her generation, then.

Coming from a former Sakura hater, I can say ,unbiased, that anyone who still thinks she's useless is most likely in denial. Sakura has completed great feats and has gained great power that proves her growth from part one. She's not amazing. But she certainly isn't useless. Most people are blinded by this because they either are too busy disliking her personality, or she isn't in the right field of strength for them (showy flashy overpowered techniques). If you get over those things there's no way you can call her useless. Besides with Sakura being one of the ones with the least to start out with in the series (besides Lee) she improved impressively

First of all, anyone who says she's useless is an idiot.

Now, moving on. I dislike her character. Something about her personality irks me, but that's beside the point.

Quite frankly, her character development was inconsistent and complete shit. Now I don't blame this on her, Kishimoto just doesn't seem to know what to do with her. She is a main character, but she doesn't feel like a main character at all. She doesn't get nearly enough development as Sasuke, Naruto or Kakashi got - and no, she's not as important right now as you might want her to be. For a main character, she's pathetically irrelevant.

In the beginning of Shippuuden, her character development spiked. It was amazing, she was the most well-developed out of Team 7 at that point after the time skip.

Then... she tried to kill Sasuke, and failed miserably, crying like she did in Part 1 - and this regressed her character development greatly. She went back to her childish ways, and showed us she can't be trusted to handle such important tasks.

So yes, she is useful as all medic-nin are useful. Important? A little. Important enough for a main character? No.

That does not count as being useless. She saved Karin from death that Sasuke did. She beat Kiba, Sia, Rock lee to get to Sasuke.

She didn't beat Sai, Kiba, and Lee. She drugged them when they thought they were a team. That's not a straight out fight.

Sakura was protected three times in just the WAVE arc. It's downright ridiculous now.

Kishimoto has develop the character Sakura in such a way that many of us can relate. We struggle through problems in this world and many of us have felt a sense of distraut. We already know her character as she even stated herself. Always running trying to keep up with others. Relying on others. She's been pushing herself to that to believe she can't do anything. Frankly she lacks a better resolve. And this will lead her determination to become a stronger person. Physically and spiritually. The write has made it so she can become the strongest shinobi alive.

People mainly hate Sakura for her love towards Sasuke. Let me consider.

Here's Sasuke. Now notice his hair, his pout up lips, his dashing eyes, and his charming complexion. What girl would not fall for Sasuke? It's young love. There was a time where we all were first developing.

Now that I got this out of the way. I can say that without Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke would die. Many other ninjas and regular people would have died. And as the highly esteem Medical ninja she has played an important part in the Forth Shinobi War. She has develop her skills and knowledge with the help of the Slug Princess. She has shown to even have skills above many people in the sand. As of now she is with the Leaf Ninja 11 and is tracking down Naruto to be able to fight Madara.

There's moments where she has failed to commit to her resolve and there are times where she made a few mistakes which has cause a burden to her friends. But given each and every circumstances she has proven to be the best shinobi she can be. And Kishimoto has made a solid character that are loved by many people. She'll soon be a easily be able to surpass her master and can lead her skills to the top 10.

Now I would like to hear your comments. Saying bluntly that she's useless is all part of her developing character. So your right. In the past she's been judging herself as such. And from following Naruto's footsteps she can grow stronger.

I agree with most of this, but I would like to add that the story revolves around her. In my opinion, she is the most important character. They might as well rename the show Sakura.
