at first hiruzen may seem like a nice guy but like all the others he really has a dark side.

Every person with the idea of wanting lots of power in the series and learn all jutsu's has been doing something bad to obtain that power like tobirama edo tensai also know as a professer to create such a formula to revive people but also kill them,orochimaru hiruzen teacher goal of edo tensai and also takes hiruzen goal of mastering all jutsu's and he has shown that him mastering all jutsu's he had to do bad deeds.

hiruzen is no different he had to do experiemnets like tobirama and orochimaru to understand the forms of ninjutsu as well so hiruzen could have been doing some bad things like experiments to get his knowledge of all of konoha jutsu's.

hiruzen wants you to think that he cares but they are really his tools look at the great ninja world war even konoha's kids where fighting even young kakashi who was like 6-8 years old and just graduated was going to fight and then rin gets captured and also obito ends up with madara to have a plot to take over the world and obito is fallen into enemy heads.

when minato was in office no kids where allowed to fight even when the nine tails came the kids stayed indoors atleast minato cared.

hiruzen failed here as well letting his biggest enemy and rival run the anbu and operations of the leaf because of this there were many tensions, dirty work and many of the things that danzo did not have to be solved that way and it ruined lifes and made the next villains like for example orochimaru,kabuto,sasuke,itachi(had to massacre),sai losing emotions for a while and then fights his friends and kills them, aso i mean how does hiruzen not see tha danzo was trying to be the next hokage,so danzoz was probably out to kill hiruzen anyway threw orochimaru,danzo and orochimaru had negotiations so it wouldn't be surprising.(so hiruzen governing of the village was bad)

All i saw here was looking at negative side of things well hiruzen did a good thing sending kids at war actually those sended kids at war are now the most powerful grown ups in the series if i remember lets not forget that the uchiha masacre happend in hirzuens time but it was the previous generations that made it happend and as for danzo he was an anbu leader you have to understand that wating even more would make hirzuen fight The hyuuga problem was a small price a man for a war huh the entire uchiha was sacrifaced so there won't be no war also i remember that it was hirzun who sealed 1 and 2 hokage tell me what would have happend if those two were around in this war with madara let s not forget the way he died ouuuu right he died protecting the village so all i see here is a lot of effort from a hater anyway i still respect your opinion

although hiruzen did have some good deeds the one's we have known to not really compare to what he had did hiruzen may have elarned from some of his past mistakes but his prime self may have had a darker side of what he had saw of him.

hiruzen didn't have to sen the kids he still had some top shinobi at that thime who had kg like the uchiha and hygua and all who could probably have defended them well,if minato found out that hiruzen made the kids fight then minato would come back from the dead to kill hiruzen he wouldn't allow hiruzen to do that lol
