why was the byakugan dropped as the first first ocular power?

im not sure what episode it was but it was said that the Byakugan was the first ocular power.... but now its the Rinnegan. why is that? real question... plz no flamers.

It was never confirmed to be the first. That was just a theory of Kakashi. He didn't believe in the existence of the Sage of the Six Paths and thought the Rinnegan was just a mutation, so he had no ways of knowing the true origin of the Sharingan.

Kishi didnt change his mind. no one counted Rinnengan because no one was known to have it. The Rinnegan was a legend. no one had really seen it before. The only known person known to have it was The sage of 6 paths before people thought it random appeared in nagato.

Kishimoto obviously trolled Byakugan. As Kakashi said that Sharingen branched out of it, and 600 chapters forward...nothing. That's just, bad writing if nothing else.
