I could see Naruto realizing that he cannot beat Madara right now. I could see Kakashi somewhat make a move that would immobilize Obito for a while, thus rendering Kakashi to be out of chakra. Gai sees this, and he tells Naruto and Bee to take Kakashi and go to the allied forces to make a new strategy to beat him. Gai then stays back to hold Madara off, obviously knowing he cannot beat him, but that he can at least save his friends.. I mean Bee already seems pretty down too, and Kakashi must be exhausted compared to Obito. Unless some sort of backup arrives soon, they will have to do this.. Unless Kishi goes with Naruto being able to fight on pair with edo Madara, that is U_U

So for your topic, I think Gai can do a lot against perf susano, but it will be far from enough. Holding it off till his gates power ends so he dies is probably all he can do.
