The true meaning of swag

As many are being told that "swag" means "secretly we are gay"

In mainstream use it certainly doesn't...(such as saying he got swag....its not he got secretly we are gay but

In actuality "swag" is a slang term for "swagger".


here is a more accurate definition

Orginally from the Scottish slang word "swagger" which was a description of the way some Scots walk (in a swaying motion), the word was then misinterpreted by the English as "the way someone presents themselves". Eg, whether someone looks cool.
The word quickly made its way to the states and has ever since become the catchphrase of douchbags and tools everywhere.


so swag is not "secretly we are gay" but as i said a slang term for swagger....and the acronyms similarity was just coincidental.


there are acronyms for everything....

for example "girl"
stands for Graph Information Retrieval Language

so i guess that in high school i dated a "Graph Information Retrieval Language".....doesnt make sense...



In conlusion the secretly we are gay standing for the common use of swag is bull...it is short for swagger and people really shouldve known this instead of trying to make it into something it isnt.....

if you learned the truth on your own good for you but i am really sick of seeing people misinformed on so much stuff...

dont get me wrong there are instances where it is used to mean gay and secretly.... and all i am only refering to the mainstream use....such as some kid saying he got swag....he not saying he is gay he saying that he has "style" of some form(as that seems to be how its used...)
