Personality: Pante is a mercenary who specializes in paranormal cases, preferring those that call for demon slaying. He possesses superhuman strength and agility, as a result of his half-demon heritage. This gives him the ability to enter a heightened state called "Devil Trigger". In this state, Pante possesses greater strength and speed, his health regenerates at a steady pace, and further abilities with his equipped melee weapon, including flight. Pante is confident in his encounters with opponents, and frequently taunts boss characters before battling them. With the exception of Devil May Cry 4, Pante says the phrase "Devils never cry" in every game, implying that no matter how much of a demon he may prove to be, his ability to cry makes his human side precious to him.
Pante is one of the twin sons of Sparda, the demon knight who sided with humanity and drove back an invasion of the human world by demons 2,000 years ago. After Sparda's death, Pante and his twin brother Vergil were raised by their human mother, Eva. When Pante and Vergil were children, the family was attacked by demons, resulting in Eva's death. This event led to Pante's commitment to hunting demons in pursuit of those that killed his mother.

History: Pante is the child of an angel named Eva and the demon Sparda, and seemingly hunts down other demons in the twisted shadows of Limbo City, while slowly coming to grips with his ethereal powers. Pante grew up in various institutions, orphanages, youth correction facilities, and foster homes, but these were mostly operated by demons, and often resulted in torture and violence. Pante has therefore developed a deep hatred of demons and authority in general, but tries to stay incognito.
In spite of this he attracts attention thanks to his violent tendencies and the actions of the demons against him. Pante is not subtle in his war against them, even going so far as punching out a bouncer in front of a group of people in order to enter a night club run by demons. The demons are even less subtle when fighting Pante, perfectly willing to tear apart Limbo City to subdue him. These mutual acts of sabotage have allowed the demons to use the media to portray Pante as public enemy no. 1.
He is later contacted by Vergil to join The Order alongside him under the guise of seeking vengeance on the demons who caused their family to fall apart.
