Why does this happen?

When I conect my usb to my mac, I can see all my folders with the finder...but whener I conect it to another computer I can't see them nor access to them. It's pretty annoying, I told my mates I would bring some docs, I put them on a folder, then I get to the library and conect the sh!t just to no see anything.
So...why does it happen? What should I do in order to prevent it?

either the data's corrupted...or the usb is broken...im just guessing though...that happened to me one time, so just bought a flash drive..

Maybe you're just not familiar with how to use PCs? I have a Macbook, but I've never run into this issue.

But that's funny ya know? Cause I have some files outside folders, and they appear. I can access to them and stuff.
I guess I'll have to save for a flash..since it seems flashs works better.
@Panda: No, I have a pc with microsoft since I was 6. I've been using the mac since this year's june.

Judging from experience, I'd have to agree with ItachiTsukuAmatsukami; I've never run into a cross-compatibility issue between Windows and MacOS. Perhaps another case is that you either bought a poor quality USB drive, or you've formatted it in a format that the other computer couldn't interpret.

Also, are the other computers you've plugged the USB into all Windows PC's? If so, try connecting it to another Mac.(I'm assuming you're running MacOS, if you aren't, you should specify that as well.)

Probably the partition type on the USB. There are only three types of partitions M$ can read, NTFS, FAT16, and FAT32.

Say, you're using an ext3 partition, windows wont recognize, and thus will not read it.
