Hey i know its not the right place for a thread like this but i need some help i have a DSL Wireless router and i get on narutobase through a laptop i was wondering if there is anyway to limit access to the internet soly to my laptop.There is another person in the same house i live in who has a desk top but i do not want this person to leech off the internet anymore is there anyway i can stop this ?
Whoever helps me in my endeavor i will give you + rep everyday until i die seriously ill make friend request you and make sure i + rep you every time i get on.

re-install your router with a password

How do i re install my router ?

I have a little bit of knowledge of just about everything except when it comes to computers and cooking on these front i am hopelessly loss

If you are doing the password, you're probably going to web into your router to make those changes. A couple of other options for so other people don't jump on your router is to not broadcast your SSID. That way your router doesn't show up. When people go looking for a wireless access point, your router won't show up on their computer.

You can also do MAC (not to be confused with Macintosh) address filtering. Your computer has a NIC (Network Interface Controller). You can't connect to a network without one. It's a address that never changes unless you change your NIC card. MAC address filtering allows only the MAC address of the machines you want to have access connect to your router. It also denies MAC addresses that you don't want to connect. It's not that hard to do. If you can create a password, you can do this.
