Not a plot hole, Nagato could have had a conversation with Obito in secrete and developed some of his ideals into Akatsuki leading Konan to believe that it was indeed him.

its not a plot hole, its obvious that when obito told nagato that hed be at the same place at the same time everyday, means he shared things with nagato that other members of akatsiki did not know, take sasori and hidan and kakuzu and itachi and deidara, they were in the dark the whole time.

All that obito was able to say was he was part of an organization to correctly lead the one who awakened the rinnegan.And that the power was originally the sages.
