Whoever wins is winning with high difficulty, Hidan is Immortal if you are forgetting and current Kakashi took down most of the seven swordsmen of the mist and fought against six bijuu's with Gai and managed to hold his own and has been fighting Obito for nearly 10 or more chapters and is still alive. Gaara is strong but, Kakashi is smarter and faster than him and we have already seen chidori break through Gaara's sand armour Raikiri>Chidori and Kakashi can go underground and attack Gaara or do Suiton: Daibakufu no Jutsu, which would create a flood and water is also sand's weakness and gaara has no counter for it, but it would be a good fight but Kakashi high diff.

How does kakashi dodge sand hail and still fight Gaara or is kakashi better than the three elite kages Gaara caught at the same time, if you can answer this with proof then I will give it to your boy kakashi and remember Gaara has more than just sand hail.

it would be a good match but for sum reason im going to go with kakashi.garra sand will not protect him from kamui.if garra hides in the sand kakashi can warp garra and the sand away.he has lightning style so that would help against the sand to.sharingan would help to dodge the sand attacks.garra has to hit kakashi to win the match to and if he cant do that then its over.

There are some people who actually think Gaara stands a chance against a high tier like Kakashi? This section needs some serious help lol...if you restrict Kakashi's mangekyo sharingan this will be a good battle indeed

gaara can control the battlefield and potentially go airborne

but kakashi is faster, smarter, better in taijutsu, better sense of smell, reactions, genjutsu, kenjutsu etc etc get the idea?
