"How do I feel about Lava?"
I feel that Lava is a really unique and effective element. I also believe it's one of the most powerful element to be shown in the anime/manga so far.

Correct. You don't force your summon, you work with your summon.
There's really nothing more to add, since you already know the Summoning Technique. I'd advice you to meet Yougama before you use him in battle, by the way.

[Doton: Shou Tsuchi Bakuhatsu] Earth Release: Destructive Earth Eruption

Description: The user performs the Boar-►Dog-►Tiger handseals then releases his/her chakra into the earth by placing the palms on the ground or channeling it through the legs. By manipulating the earth with his/her chakra, the user may create a line of pressure within the earth. At the user's will, the earth will begin a violent eruption, causing chunks of rocks to emerge from below. Rising along with the rocks is a great amount of dirt, with this technique, the user can create a horizontal line to defend certain techniques, or direct the eruption towards the opponent.
Note: Usable only twice per battle.
Note: No S Rank earth in the same or following turn.
Alright, so this jutsu allows you to manipulate Earth by using it to erupt, creating a line of pressure. This can be used for offensive or defensive purposes. If offensive, you can direct the technique to strike your opponent, or you can use it to create a wall in front of you which can block certain techniques and weapons/tools.
To perform it, gather your chakra then channel it into the Earth below you. Use the chakra to manipulate the Earth, create a line of pressure with the chakra, which forces a crack into the earth from which rocks, dirt, etc. will arise, as I mentioned before, it can be used for an offense and a defence.
