Naruto: A Namikaze or an Uzumaki?!

:shrug:I don’t know if this has been brought before but shouldn’t Naruto inherit his father’s family name?!
I have a theory: Maybe they called him an Uzumaki not to let him & the others know he was from the Namikaze clan, his father’s clan. So something is or was special or a top secret about that clan…or it’s something else that I haven’t been able to realize!
So if anyone has any info about it please share it with me in this thread.

Clan means family , so You're implying the minato doesn't have any relatives you're wrong.

Naruto got the last name Uzumaki instead of Namikaze to protect him from his father's enemies. If he had his father's last name, that news would spread out fast and enemies would be coming to Konoha to get rid of him.
With a last name as Uzumaki, enemies wouldn't get the link between him and Minato and thus keeping him safe.

But how the hell nobody could see the likeness between him and Naruto is still beyond me, considering they are almost copies.

No, not always. There are cultures where children get the mother's maiden name/last name. And there are countries where parents can choose which last name the child gets.
So it's still Uzumaki Naruto, even with his father's last name being Namikaze.
