3.Naruto(well..he lost his parents during that nine tails battle)
4.Kabuto(almost)

Characters that everyone admire: (dead ones that is)
1.Itachi
2.Third Hokage
3.Asuma
4.Haku
5.Zabuza

Um........Is there any character that I seriously hate, in this entire Naruto series????

To be honest, I don't understand the purpose of this thread. Why is Kishimoto-sensei an idiot for making some characters have a sad background?

It is true! Kishi bases alot of people with sad backgrounds in his show! I never understood it, and after a while, it pretty much made me think "Pity party" After a while though, i began to find that actually having characters with "saddened" backgrounds make most people take pity on them, and then start to like them (more than half the time) personally, I don't find it right, but it works as most Naruto fans I know always go "AWW! Nagato's PAST! or AWW! Sasuke's PAST!" It gets to them emotionally, and then it makes them connected to the character in a way for them to like the character xD I always said to myself "When is Kishi gonna start taking his happy pills!?" xp lol I do totally understand what you are saying though, the bad pasts do get pretty repetitive, but I guess that is just the Kishi way.
Personally, it was a change of pace for once, (Since most animes I have seen had pretty decent pasts/didn't die alot, and when they did, they somehow manage to come back *cough*dragonball*cough* xD) so in a way, it changed things up a bit, and I guess mad people realize not all animes have a happy ending, such as life. So in a way, it does teach most people (morally in most cases) I really think Kishi is doing this because it is eventually all going to lead up to Naruto saving them and peace and happiness will happen because of him in the future generations or something lame like that >.> lol I can see something happening like that. Just my thoughts lol

It wouldn't be an interesting story if everyone was happy, had no sad background and didn't die. That would never make a good story. Plus people are actually complaining that he doesn't kill enough people in the war LOL

If a story doesn't have characters with a sad background or issues; then it would be honestly a boring story. Those are needed to create a bit of conflict in the story and to make the relationships with other characters more interesting

agreed.but main characters must not die!!!!!!!

Those weren't main characters in the story (the three main characters are Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura) and their deaths were necessary to get the plot flowing
