I was thinking what Madara said about having Uchiha and Senju Dna To awaken Rinnengan.If this were true The sages elder son could not have Rinnengan seeing how he was a Uchiha.So I belive his dojustu is still unknown and not rinnengan

This is a possiblity but from the stories past down threw generations it seems he was full blooded Uchiha

Yeah my friend and I have been saying this for awhile in a naruto chat. If you go back and look at the Elder sage's son, he has the "eyes" of the sage as Tobi stated but its not a complete rinningan. To me it looks a lot like the symbol of the hidden eddy village or the uzamaki clan's symbol. Take a look for ur self on narutopedia.

yes I did realize there was a slight resemblance to the eddy village but its still unclear why probably the Uchiha could be relater to the Eddys as well as the senju

I belive the current sirvivours that know about the decpting of the tablet by dojustu only knows about the Rinnengan and the Sharingan

he was born with it
uchiha's with there thinned blood have to awaken an ms plus another ms to get the ems(older son's eyes) and then add the yang chakra the elder son didn't inherit to make the rinnegan(the sage's eyes)
