I'm not the evil clone......you are >_-

Well the first ability the sharingan posses is the ability to see the flow of chakra and any tomoe of the sharingan has this ability only it's better each level you progress as are many of the sharingan's other abilities. Whilst the sharingan is activated you can only see the flow of chakra so to tell who's who the chakra has a colour which would allow you to tell the difference if you were going up against two or more opponents and if your opponent uses shadow clones the sharingan is able to tell which is the real person. Another sharingan ability is to tell if you or someone else is under a genjutsu or not because the flow of chakra becomes irregular. If you have the one tomoe sharingan in NB it allows you to pierce through D-Rank Genjutsu, two tomoe allows you to pierce through C-Rank and below genjutsu and finally three tomoe allows you to pierce through B-Rank genjutsu and below.

From the lowest level of sharingan the user is able to remember or mimic small movements and as the users sharingan progresses he can see an image of an attack coming for him. So the sharingan user can react faster and with a more fluent motion at that. At the highest level of sharingan with tomoe seals the users perception is remarkable they are able to copy and mimic handseals, complicated taijutsu techniques along with some genjutsu. Along with all of this the sharingan has it's own special genjutsu that only people with the sharingan can perform, called Sharingan genjutsu.
