Kenjutsu is actually techniques that involve fighting with swords. Normally its samurais who use it mostly but ninjas can use it as well along with their normal ninjutsus. When used with taijutsu, it becomes more deadly. Samurais from the land of iron are quite famous for their kenjutsu skills.

There is a simple universal truth - And that is, that Kenjutsu is the art of the sword. If you do not respect the sword, than you are not fit to wield one. Many people misunderstand, thinking that the blade is nothing more than a tool of war, however, to a swordsman, the sword is a part of our sword, an extension of ourselves, and, a means of protection. You'll find that a swordsman can always grow stronger when he has something he wishes to protect.

Anyway, can you tell me what the difference is between a One-Handed and a Two-Handed Slash is? Besides the obvious.

Hmm......I guess one handed slash is less effective than the double handed one cuz it only uses one hand so the power is less whereas say if you miss the attack one handed slash gives you the option to defend against the enemy's attack with his free hand which is not possible with a double handed sword slash @_@

Good, but not all true. A One-Handed Slash isn't any less effective than a Two-Handed Slash - If I stabbed at you, and landed the hit, that could very well deliver a more severe wound than any slash.

One-Handed Slashes aren't as fast as Two-Handed Slashes, but it makes it provides for better maneuverability, and is much easier to follow up on. Two-Handed Slashes are faster due to the extra force behind each slash, as well as being more powerful than a One-Handed Slash; but you can't maneuver as well as with one hand, as well as it being harder to chain other attacks.

If you still want to continue, than perform a One-Handed Horizontal Slash on this training dummy I have set up, with this Bokuto. Include details as to your posture, where you hit the dummy, which hand you're using, the direction of your swing (Right --> Left/Left ---> Right), etc.

I hold the bokuto in my right hand like a sword. I walk towards the dummy slightly tilted showing off my left side. As I reach about a meter away from the dummy, I swing my arm slashing the dummy's chest from the (my) upper right side to the lower left side and I regain my composure looking straight at the dummy.

I go back to my original position again. As I face the dummy, I hold the bokuto in my right hand firmly in a horizontal manner. My right hand crossing my chest as the tip of the bokuto goes back and I show you the hilt side of the bokuto. I run towards the the dummy and swing my arm as I reach near him, from my left to right across his stomach. Once done, I fall back and stand in attention for your approval.
