Minato didn't create Shiki Fūjin. It was an Uzamaki technique that he encountered through his relations with Kushina. Minato didn't "fabricate" Hiraishin or Rasengan either. They are variants of the kuchiyose and tailed beast bomb techniques. Itachi has created fūinjutsu though, sealing techniques that Obito called amazing, and created clones out of his summons to save energy. Itachi has also analyzed techniques more impressive than Chidori, like Edo Tensei, Chibaku Tensei, and Rinnegan shared vision. Lastly, Itachi was also labeled as a genius that hadn't been seen since the conception of the ninja academy and someone that Orochimaru, a genius stated by Hiruzen to be of the caliber that came along only every few decades, idolized.

Minato invented these techniques, whether they are based on pre-existing techniques or not is embarrassingly irrelevant. If it were so easy to learn (never mind fabricate), we'd have bucket loads of ninja using the Rasengan or Hiraishin (a jutsu which actually requires the combined efforts of Minato's three bodyguards). I don't know where you obtained the idea that Shiki Fujin originated from or was created by the Uzumaki clan, considering Minato and Hiruzen are the only known users and Kushina (acting under the premise that she had actually taught Minato the technique herself) would've taken the Kyuubi down via such means (removing Minato's need to sacrifice himself). I recall Itachi conversing with Naruto about his prior experience dealing with Chibaku Tensei. Itachi himself benefits from having a very powerful dojutsu, and while his feats are impressive, they are trumped by Minato who prospers on natural ability alone. And no. It was only an individual teacher who had praised Itachi as being the best he had ever taught; not that he was the best the entire academy had ever seen.

Teacher: "The honor is mine. Itachi was the most gifted student I ever had the pleasure to mentor...I've never seen such a remarkable student. We barely had to teach him anything at all.

Fugaku: "You exaggerate."

Teacher: "No, No."

Orochimaru was actually more fixated on Sasuke IIRC, outlining that he was incomparable to Sasuke interms of being called a genius.

It's funny that manga stated Kakashi was the best when it comes to analyzing, yet this thread includes only Minato and Itachi, LMFAO.

IMO Kakashi is the smartest of them.

Second of all, Kakashi is currently Itachi's league. A little weaker, probably, but generally the same level.

Never mind, the "second of all" point, since it's not on topic. As I said, intelligence doesn't have to do anything with power.

You said "Kakashi is strong but he's nowhere near Itachi's level" or something similar. "Strong" indicating you meant power.
But that doesn't matter, since Kakashi is Itachi's league ANYWAY.

And Kakashi was stated to be the most analytical character in the manga. The most. That's why I go with him.

And you put Kakashi beneath almost everyone else. Hmm.

He cracked Obito's greatest defense. He outsmarted Itachi. He outsmarted Obito. Twice. He cracked Shinra Tensei, arguably thanks to which Naruto was able to win against Pain.

At the very least Kakashi is on par with Itachi when it comes to intelligence, but it's more likely he's better (he outsmarted him after all). I'm not saying anything about Minato, because we didn't see him much.

Minato on the other hand succeeded with most of his plans and i'll quote Noddy on this.

When Itachi shows the capacity to fabricate techniques such as Hiraishin or Rasengan, create fuuinjutsu on the level of Shiki Fujin, analyse the mechanics and potential hazards/shortcomings of a technique (Chidori, Raikiri) after only viewing it once or be labelled as a genius seen once every decade/generation then perhaps he can be put ahead of Yondaime.
