Kakashi is not even that good of a shinobi, he's just all talk and all he does is read that stupid book. The only reason why people like him is because of his beautiful look. If it wasnt for his looks, everyone wouldve disliked him as much as everyone disliked sakura in the first series of naruto. It's stupid, I reckon lee could probably own him with no sweat. The only reason why people think hes strong is because of the sharingan. Without sharingan hes NOTHING. Also, kakashi only reiles on his sharingan, if it wasnt for his sharingan he wouldve died in the first series of naruto when he was versing zabuza.

this is a troll thread obviously... but i ll bite.... first kakashi is pound for pound the best fighter of the series (and by pound for pound i mean he doesnt have outrages strenght or stamina like the jinchuriki or OP'd uchiha's... he is a top strategist in a fight, he is more well rounded in all types of jutsu than anyone else... he was anbu black ops as a kid which takes a certain class of shinobi to do... and to top off everything else... with tsunade down and danzo dead, he was next in line to be hokage......

Kakashi is severely over-rated. He lost to Zabuza, technically. A bunch of genins saved him. He only defeated him the second time, but that too with a borrowed eye he has an below average command over as he is not an uchiha. He is basically famous for copying 1000 jutsus, which is not even an amazing feat to begin it. It is just copying. His own Chidori is pretty amazing though.

His stamina and Chakra reserves are abysmal, which means he can't last in any fight with a tougher opponent long. This shows how he was severely struggling with Hiden, who was kicking him around. The way they defeated Kakuzu was...unrealistic and insane. I can't see someone at Kakuzu's level losing to Kakashi or Naruto at that level. It was definitely 'the good win' plot nonsense.

During the pein arc, he was severely beaten by Deva path and got killed by over using his sharingen ability. Come to think of it, aside of his analyitical bility, and hand seal speed - which are extremely impressive - Kakashi is over-rated on all fronts.

Reputation given. and agreed. People need to differentiate between blood-line abilities, borrowed powers, tailed beasts, and techniques. All are different from one another. Calling Sasuke, Madara, Tobi, or Itachi useless without Shaningen is a pointless logic, because it is an ability passed down through DNA. it's in their blood. People are just extremely biased towards uchihas here.
