Tea Drinkers

I really enjoy a fresh cup of loose-leaf tea, none of that bagged crap. I like every kind of tea from black, to green, to oolong, to mate, to roobios, to herbal. Right now I'm sipping on a cup of some delightful lapsang souchong. Personally, I think tea kicks the shit out of coffee. Anyone else take pleasure in leaves steeped in boiling water? If so, what's your favorite kind/blend?

I'm about to order some yerba mate, like right now. Many people call it a tea, but it's not a tea. You can use the water of any temperature, and it's very healthy. I'm sure it must taste awesome.

I would consider mate a tea in the same way that herbal teas are teas, despite the fact that they aren't made from tea leaves. I really like mate. To be authentic, you should get a cuia and a matching bombilla to drink it out of. It makes a difference.

That's fair. I just don't like the taste of coffee, though I do like coffee as an ingredient in things like tiramasu.

Yeah, I love London. When I was there I stocked up on some good loose leaf to bring with me back to the states. I still have one tin of English breakfast and one "gunpowder" which is a green blend.

Dunno about the gunpowder but I did have the opportunity to have English breakfast as well. It was a strange combination for me, coming from another culture because we do things different but, nevertheless, interesting.

Chamomile tea.
Also, I like green tea with no sugar but a small spoonful of honey.
Red tea was gud to me as well, but hadn't tasted it for a while.
Indeed, bags are not really that tasty, but when ya have no time they can make the job.

Indeed, bags are not really that tasty, but when ya have no time they can make the job.

Chamomile's good, but I don't drink it unless I want to go to sleep. It relaxes me a bit too much. Honey's the way to go with most teas, I think. I can't say I've had red before, I'll have to look for it. I'll admit that I do use bags when I'm in a hurry and I want to take tea to go.
