Flames

This one was inspired by you know halloween being so close and England's Demon Summoning Song xd Here it is:

A flame trickling in the tangible darkness around
A little girl stand amongst the flame
Watching as her skin was eaten away greedily

The black demons swarmed around the accused witch
Laughing and mocking her, along with the people
The people watching her burn that fair skin away

The villagers betting on how long she could surive
Laughing and chanting:
Witch! Witch be gone!

Her skin recoiling from her face as her voice opened in a chant
Flame up and burn intensely and turn into crisp from corner to corner
Don't even leave a single trace and burn the souls to crisp!

The flames-forming into little bats- swarmed away from the half burnt body
The people ran in fear, tripping and skidding in the dirt
But they were no match for the fire demons

Once the village was eaten away, the girl walked to a new home
Steadily and surely
With the crisped skin peeling back on her small innocent face that curled in a smile

Nope! In ancient England, if you were accused of being a witch then you would be burned at stake. Say if you never played chess and suddenly you win a bunch of times-back then- you would've been accused of being a witch


I wite my poems to strike the hearts of others and get deep into their hearts. If I did that great! If I didn't tell me how I can ^^

Great poem and it was interesting to have what people used to do in the past when
they accused someone of being a witch.
