Why didn't Obito just kill Kakashi?

He probly realized Kakashi wasn't @ fault.
Possible proof for that is Obito saying "you didn't protect Rin" - aka you lost to the mist ninja.
And there will probly be some rational behind Obito's rage (which there was a good post about it being a part of gedo statue rage)
in future manga.

Well Kakashi passed out Obito wanted a fight not just killing a passed out Kakashi. And we have more of the battlefield or really slaying maybe in the next chapter.
More or less, this. Obito's an Uchiha, and Uchiha never do the sensible thing. Rather than take their aggression out on the cause, they take it out on everyone else. Sasuke, mad at the Konoha elders, decides to destroy the whole village. Madara, butthurt by the Senju, takes it out on the world. Obito's no different. Not that I think Kakashi is at fault in this situation; I'll reserve judgment until we know more.

4 possible reasons...
1. Obito already understands why Kakashi took out Rin and went after the Mist shinobi, because if they never hunted Rin or Kakashi down, this would've never happened.
2. Obito let Kakashi live, to make sure he first has to suffer the guilt of his broken promise. Then Kakashi has his permission to die.
3. Obito still couldn't bring himself to kill Kakashi, which would also explain why he didn't take back his eye.
....
4. The most convenient would be that Obito passes out after that explosion of rage and that the Spiral dude takes him back to the cave. But that would piss off quite a number of people xD
