It's not a new style, he planned the story out a long time ago and probably already had this in mind when we first saw Obito, Kakashi and Rin as kids and of course the reason why Obito turned evil had to be something crazy like this or people will think the plot is just stupid which they already jumped the gun and said anyway without waiting for this.

here is a fact I came up with..by unlocking MS you suffer a short memory lost which explains why obito then says where am I? and he looks at Rins body dead and he sees the bloody mist ninjas around her and thinks they killed her thats why in the current time he says to kakshi cause you LET rin die. & another proof that they suffer short memory lost is that Kakashi himself DOES NOT know who killed Rin and why her body was the way it was...meaning why did it had a hole in its chest.

Yes zetsu knows everything....but he wasn't going to tell him remember he works for madara not obito/tobi
but maybe later on when they are putting the puzzle together and Im talking about Obito and kakashi talking as they fight they will realise that kakashi killed her for w.e reason and obito would know he was being used all this time

Here's hoping this darker side carries over into the current storyline. It's a war and none of the older or new generation has died. Since Kishi loves to repeat plots so much we've already seen some foreshadowing maybe

yes but madara would of preferred the way it happened if they told him that kakashi killed her..Obito would of wanted to pursue kakashi and revenge to kill him and not bothered so much to listening to madaras plan in my belief. If a plan is working which it was for madara then why risk it by letting obito know the truth..
