rin had some special power/bloodline that bloody mist regime wanted destroyed, or the mist were trying to retrieve rin because she betrayed them after turning back into a leaf loyalist. they had hunter masks on like haku.

dude i am the best theory guy on the base, i made a thread a few days ago on why kakashi killed rin, For 2 reasons that she was a spy for the mist village and kakashi was tasked with killing her, or kakashi killed her to protect her, looks like im completely right

maybe rin was a spy that was just going with the mist when Kakashi killed her (assassinated)

I think she was a spy for the mist, and was trying to get the sharingan. That answers the "it" they were talking about and explains why they wanted her body back.

^ this. whether she was a spy and the mist wanted to retrieve her body because of, let's say, a jutsu they had placed on her; or, she wasn't a spy but had some special ability, the kirigakure nin wanted to take her body back. [though, and it is highly unlikely, they could have wanted to take her body back as a sign of respect IF she was their ally. remember the tragedy of yosuga pass? the mist ninja seem to respect their dead.]

Mist wants her body in case there is any info on it.

This is quite likely. I still dont get why madara knew obito would return though. Something seems off about all this, i think madara had a hand here somehow. Maybe he alerted the mist ninja to kakashi and rins location through zetsu?

Protecting her by killing her? ...LOL that doesn't make any sense. He obviously did it for the village, that's why it was such a hard choice. Rin obviously had somekind of ability or knowledge of somekind, that could have terrible consequenses for the village, when falling into the wrong hands. So Kakashi was just doing his job, which is keeping the village as the priority number one.
