Did Kakashi really kill Rin?

Okey I saw what I saw Kakashi standing there with a serious look on his face murdering Rin and I accepted that but there is something that has been bothering me:

why would Obito say "you let Rin die" surely a more correct sentence would be "you killed Rin" is it just bad writing or could there be a twist?
