"Rasengan!" the legendary Yellow Flash roared as the blue sphere disperses on his enemy, sending the giant flying downwards with great speed. A fierce anger is apparent on the Konoha ninja's face.
"Its-" Kushina starts.
"Minato!" Hideki shouted with joy. "We were starting to think something happened to you!" The Hyuuga quickly shifted his focus to the enemy, taking a Hyuuga battle stance.
"I teleported to my technique's marking on Kushina. Its not over yet though." Minato forms another Rasengan. "You guys keep going, I'll teleport A away so he can"t go after you guys."
"Ok. But how will you finish him?' Hideki asks. "My Byakugan tells me he was barely damaged by your technique."
"A's armor will certainly protect him from just one Rasengan. However-" another sphere begins to form on Minato's other palm. In an instant, the Fourth Raikage, clad in armor, was once again in front of the Yellow Flash, his fist only a hair's breadth away from shattering Minato's face. Minato vanishes in a yellow flash, appears above the man and hits him with the full brunt of both spheres then both shinobi disappear.
"Where'd he go?" Kushina asked, confused.
Elsewhere, Minato and A appear directly above the now dead Saigo's body and A is sent flying into the deceased shinobi by Minato's two spheres. A speeds towards the ground head first and the crashes into it, causing so much devastation to the earth that a nearby tree is uprooted and begins to fall over. Minato appears on A's back again, armed with two more spheres and uses both on the Raikage once more, sinking the man further into the ground and causing even greater devastation to the earth.
"Its Minato!" cried one of A's comrades.
"And Raikage-sama!" Cried another, a combination of shock, awe and fear on his face as he watches his fearsome leader lying face down in a large crater. These Kumo ninja watched confused when A fled the battlefield and Minato teleported after him. They had decided to wait for their leader to return since they couldn't very well go back to their village without him. Abandoning the Kage was a level of cowardice even the greatest scum among Kumo's ranks was incapable of.
A feels intense pain and weakness after taking a total of five hits of Minato's technique. His armor begins to disperse. "*He must have marked me when he hit me the his jutsu the first time....I can't take any more of those*" A thinks to himself as Minato forms yet another pair of Rasengans and once again forces both into A's back. A's armor, in this moment of weakness, disappears.
Minato quickly takes out a kunai. "*You're finished!*" Minato holds the kunai with both hands and brings down the sharp end on the Raikage's neck but he suddenly stops when the blade is only a moment away from ending the enemy's life. A sword is on the Konoha shinobi's neck wielded by one of A's comrades.
"Don't move!" the young white haired shinobi commanded the Yellow Flash in both anger and fear. A long silence followed after.
"Are you sure you really want to do this?" Minato asked, breaking the silence. "You're a kid. Interrupting a battle between ninja far above one's level is an unwise move...unless you don't plan on living very long."
"My apologies Konoha's Yellow Flash, but I can't let you kill Raikage-sama!" The boy responded, his voice shaking.
"*He's sore afraid of me, his blade is trembling. Yet....*" Minato thinks to himself as he observed the young Kumogakure ninja. "I'm impressed by your bravery." Says the Yellow Flash as a smile forms on his face, his focus shifts to the defeated Raikage. "A, these are the comrades you were so willing to let me kill. Now, one of them has saved your life." Minato directs his attention back to the boy with a blade on the blonde's neck. "What is your name?" he asks courteously.
"D-Darui...my name is Darui." the boy answers, a drop of sweat running down the side of his face. The wind howls violently as silence falls upon all that are present.
"You're a fine shinobi, Darui. I believe you'll grow up to do great things for both Kumogakure and the shinobi world. Why is why I'll spare your life here. I hope we meet again." with that, the Konoha shinobi is instantly engulfed in a yellow radiance and disappears.
"He's gone!" comments another one of A's comrades, frozen in fear.
"Forget him. Let's help Raikage-sama!" shouts Darui.
The Kumo ninjas gather around the Kage and one of them, a medic, places both palms on A's back causing a green aura to appear around it.
"Raikage-sama's armor took most of the impact. He'll be fine." says the Medic.
Elsewhere, Minato appears beside Kushina, a smile etched on his face and he joins them in leaping happily from tree to tree.
"From the look on your face, I'm guessing you killed the Raikage?" asks Kushina as a similar smile begins to form on her face.
"No. But something interesting did happen." replies Minato, still beaming from ear to ear.
"What?" the red haired ninja asks, confused.
"Never mind." replies Minato. " So who are we up against now?"
"Well, we're going back to Konoha to prepare and then its off to Iwagakure." answers Hideki.
"Maybe you can kill the Tsuchikage since you couldn't finish off the Raikage." Kushina says jokingly.
"I'm not sure I can take on the Legendary Onoki of Both Scales but we'll see." Minato responded.
It was barely visible, positioned at a geographical height far above the other shinobi villages and shrouded by the heavens. Kumogakure indeed was an edifice worthy of note. Of course, to its dwellers it wasn't at all spectacular. In an era of war, there was hardly the time to take in the scenery of one's own hometown which was why its shinobi dwellers normally leaped in and out of it without taking any sort of notice. They worked tirelessly in service of their leader who they had believed in completely to do what is best for them. The Feudal Lord owned the land but the Raikage lorded over its inhabitants.
On this particular day, when the Raikage returned from battle injured and news spread that he was brought very close to death, the village was in an uproar. Anger directed towards Konoha, gratitude showed to the heavens or whatever deity existed in their world for sparing their leader's life and praise to the young hero who saved him.
"Good work Darui." one Kumo ninja said while patting the young ninja on the back. "You saved Raikage-sama!"
"A fine example of a Kumo ninja!" said another. They had all crowded him to celebrate his heroism.
"Its was nothing really." the youth responded. "Truth be told, I was scared!"
But you didn't let that stop ya, did you?!" said another. "That, my friend is true courage. You'll do great things."
Darui became lost in thought. 'Great things' that was exactly what he said. His sudden silence did not go unnoticed.
"What's wrong, boy?" one of them asked.
"Nothing." Darui responded with a smile.
