Minato in a race

Im a minato fan but my friend brought up an interesting point earlier today. Is minato really all he amped up to be? He admitted that for what he is doing (fighting) he is fast but what about a real race? Can he really keep up with most ninja that actually move fast because he came up with names of 5 ninjas that made me think i think he would lose to. This isnt to start a flaming war but its only to prove a point minato isnt really that fast. Before giving the names of 5 shinobi lets get a few things straight with the FTG technique. He needs time to get it really and if the location is unknown to him he has to adjust accordingly (Placing kunais). Things that he seen he is good at but that will not help him is a race. The points he brought up to make me think.

1, A
2, Gai
3, Rock Lee
4, Naruto KM
5, Itachi

Everyone for those uses regular speed alone moves as a blur in battle. So if They are just running in a area from point A to point B he will lose and be a die hard minato fan im like hell no he would still wipe them but honestly i hate to admit it but he will lose but what lightings my day is that in a fight he is beating them all maybe not naruto because he is the main character

Can he use the FTG or not? If so, he beats anyone in speed, from Point A to Point B. Nuff said. He has some of, if not the fastest reactions in the series. He also is very fast even without the FTG. It's not like he's Choji with a seal that makes him the speed of lightning. C'mon now.

Minato is known for his Shunshin no jutsu and Flying thunder God technique. He is one of the fastest FTG or not. I think that only BM Naruto is close from his level

FTG wont work in a race because he has to throw the kunai the moment to kunai stop there is a pause and he throws it again. some one running will not need to stop making a gap between the 2
