Tbh I didn't like Kin-san. He didn't seem to have the flaws that other characters like Shinpachi and Sadaharu have, and really isn't that interesting. But I did learn that people with naturally straight hair can't be that bad, so I'll keep watching it. :3

I think the series would be kind of boring with such a straight laced character as Kin-san, which is why I'm hoping for some as*-kicking by Gin-san soon!

Comparing to others, it has the same feeling as Naruto or Bleach as it is a shounen and long-running.
However that's where it ends.
The jokes are in a dimensions of completely different nature, they're seemingly random and not too seldom a bit perverted, not to the point where it's disgusting in an unbearable way though.

The best thing about this series though, as I see it, is the spirit and underlying meanings of it all. I think that it's usually humorous nature sometimes clouds the immense depth it has.
I recommend you watch it, or if you prefer reading, the manga.
