And Pain straight up says, here, that if Jiraiya knew at the start what he learned about Pain as he died, that he would have most likely defeated Pain, the, as said by Kishi, strongest Akatsuki member (stronger than Itachi):

So even if A>B>C logic, doesn't work, if Jiraiya > Pain, Pain > Itachi, and (presumably, based on the general consensus here) Itachi > Jiraiya, shouldn't Itachi and Jiriaya be on similar tiers, against what many people usually think? And this is ignoring Kishi's message he sent us through Itachi (about both Jiraiya and Itachi dying if they fought), which was passed off was "a lie or excuse" by Itachi supporters, which I honestly doubt is what Kishi was intending.​

Jman has the tools to defeat Itachi as many others do, he's just able to analysis situations better than the others who have come face-to-face with Itachi. Jman is someone who can look dwn upon Itachi and IMO superior because of everything he possesses.
