you have to notice features of rin like what is her family?
rin clan has never been shown think about it who else in the hidden leaf has blue marks on there face the only one's with such markings are kiba's clan which are red so where is rin's clan.
we have seen people all around the hidden leaf with traits but not like rin so rin was probably adopted by the hidden leaf like kushina and kabuto.
remember that kakashi just got promoted at age 5 and was a chunin at age 6 and there was also the 3rd great ninja war started when kakashi was about 13.
obito and rin where about kakashi age and even children would fight in this war.
so if it is true that even children would fight and was a war to gain back power what was the hidden mist plan to gain power it was probably to send a spy into konoha borders to get information and rin could be that spy to get info from konoha,rin could have entered konoha before the war started so that rin would be accepted freely into konoha if she was a child abandoned and knowing the third hokage's personality he would take in an abandoned child.
why would the hidden mist do such a thing?
well the hidden mist has always known to be sneaky and bloody remember kisame,zabuza, and haku they were all sneaky ninja and bloody,kisame killed his teammates over important documents,zabuza killed his classmen,haku decieved kakashi hard and saved zabuza because of it.the hidden mist usually relies on sneaky tactics so it could have done the same thing with konoha and put a spy in the village to gain info remember info can also give you power even danzo said so and tried to kill kabuto.
now also remember this scene genjutsu was used on rin and no info was being leaked that's actually surprising since she is suppose to be a medic not skilled in genjutsu,ninjutsu, and taijutsu i mean your telling me that everyone that encounters genjutsu gets messed up and fears it but rin is just immuned to it.
the real reason why rin wasn't able to speak and release a word is because of the anbu tricks like placing genjutsu blocks or putting seals on people remember sai even he said that people in the anbu had seals to prevent leaked information about them so rin had a genjutsu block in here head like what nagato did to his other companions.

or the other reason why kakashi would have also have stabbed rin was because he found out that rin could be leaking info of the hidden leaf village and that could damage the hidden leaf and that's why he stabbed rin in the chest since he felt like he had no choice and that's what rin would have wanted and why would the anbu wold be after kakashi and rin it was probably because they had some important data which rin had collected her mind.(rin could have been a spy but have refused to help them and so she would want to die instead of helping the hidden instead of destroying the hidden leaf and the one she likes kakashi)
do you honestly think kakashi would stab rin for no reason at all he probabaly did since the situation was to out of hand.
