Saw this somewhere and thought I'd like to share it with you nice people.

Many people try to find reasons to why " someone " is better than " someone " else in these vs threads. Many fans of naruto believe some shinobi are stronger than another by sheer ability. The third raikage for example. Yes he is strong, yes we have seen his abilities but if Kishi does have someone in the manga say hiruzen was the strongest hokage/kage of his time shouldn't that word be law, and the end of it?
Until stated otherwise I believe everyone should accept who kishi declares stronger than another until he says otherwise. People are quick to make assumptions and sometimes never even look at both sides of a fight. In the end, Kishi has the last word, and I believe naruto fans should stop "speaking" for him and the characters he created.

In a fight with naruto for example many people say he would just "speed blitz" people, or sasuke would just "spam" sussanoo arrows. It's not that easy, do you really think that's all they'd do? Stop assuming they'd attack a certain way, especially if they haven't done it before.

hashirama is so stong ppl consider him a fairy tail but hiruzen is stronger......cant have it both ways

well......you are kind of right.but it`s not neccessary kishi says all things,i mean some things are based on people`s opinions and points of view-iruka said hiruzen was the best,jiraiya said minato was the best,kabuto said hashirama is the best....no wonder you have to rationally think about who is better xd oh and by the way....3rd raikage destroys hiruzen

They were just used as an example lol, but if we were to discuss how the raikage destroys hiruzen we'd end up making up their moves and make them do stuff that kishi probably wouldn't make them do, and come to that conclusion, if you get the point that I'm trying to bring across. You are entitled to your opinion however.

Well, 2 of those kage were actually stated to be the strongest in their villages history. The other 3 can be assumed, but you are entitled to your opinion and I won't disagree at all.

That's the thing. The key to winning a debate is facts. We shouldn't stop discussing because of what Kishi says, but rather, use what Kishi says as tools for.debating and discussing.

Many people tend to ignore those tools. Kishi states facts for the most part, even though he sometimes contradicts himself, it's still his manga therefor he can only be right.

If a character makes reference to someone being stronger than whoever, people shouldnt put so much emphasis on it depending on context. Madara and Hashi are the two God figures in the Naruto world (Like the Jesus and Muhammad of our world) If Madara pawned teh 5 kages like he did (which he did) this proves in a sense that Madara is more powerful than them right? kinda obvious. Well if Madara was beaten by Hashi and he regards his rival like he does then its safe to assume Hashi is the most powerful kage though Hiruzen, Tobi, Minato and Tsunade come close in their own ways. If someone like Jiraiya or Minato said Hiruzen was the best kage they had or knew, its because in their timeline...he would have been better than Tobi or Minato. Make sense??
