I think Sasuke Sarutobi was the same age as Hashirama, which means that the Senju and Sarutobi clans already existed at the same time during their prime.

Hatake and Namikaze didn't really have anything special, really...

So did many shinobi, however, usually you take on the mans clan name for the child. Most men of the senju clan probably died in the 1st war, so that may explain it. Sarutobi Hiruzen may very well have senju DNA, since we only know of his fathers name, and he of course was a sarutobi, so it's likely that his wife may have been senju? Though Biwako was also a Sarutobi of what I know?

Anyway the only case I can think off, where the child would take his mothers clan name, would be Naruto, although he looks more like his father.. But from what we know Hashirama must have had a child with Mito, and that child was the parrent of Tsunade. And Tsunade is obviously senju, so we can partly define that both her parrents were probably senju too..

I just think the most of them have died in the 1st war, at least the men, since they founded the clan, and they also were the generation that was supposed to protect the oncoming generation.

Why does this keep bothering people? We've seen Kakashi use Kamui how many times?
Against Deidara, against Pain, and now against Obito.. It's not that many times. Besides it's the susano that makes you go blind very fast. We have no knowledge of how much Itachi used it, but Sasuke used it a lot in a short time, which probably also has some effect. Kakashi didn't use his kamui to an extent even close to this. Besides I think it is all about controlling the jutsu and how much chakra it takes to perform it. Obito is probably a master in using his, we also never see it bleed. Also he has senju DNA.

Besides we have never seen someone with just 1 sharingan go blind, and this just proves that it's the susano that has the highest cost..

It may also be related to the fact that he use it on critical situation. Sasuke used his MS during the few days he got it more than Kakashi in his entire life!

I know that? Doesn't change what I said about shinobi always being named after their father. And it's still obvious that Tsunade has inherited both some of Hashiramas skills, but she has most likely also been taught by Mito, since Mito also had the same seal in her forehead. Also she is some years older than her brother, so she must have known her parents, so I still think her last name is senju though.
