I've seen 50 threads about this fight and I want to get something straight. Itachi=Tobi/obito 3 tomoe. Here is why:
Honestly without the rinnengan, Tobi can't really do much against Itachi except switch dimensions. I think this would be a pointless battle because Itachi does have stronger techniques, whereas Tobi has intangibility which causes the battle to go on forever. Furthermore, Itachi wouldn't be so stupid as to let Tobi grab him and switch dimensions. Then there's also the point of Itachi using susanoo rib cage, which wouldn't let Tobi grab him. Although it consumes large amounts of chakra, if tobi does end up becoming tangible, all itachi needs to do is look into his eyes and it's game over. Itachi's genjutsu is probably the strongest in the ENTIRE series if you count KA on his side, whereas Tobi's is nowhere near his level.
Itachi was made anbu captain at like 12 years old, and his intelligence rivals that of many, including the 4th, who was able to decipher the space/time technique quite easily. So for those who say the battle would end in a matter of seconds are clearly not understanding Itachi's intelligence.
Furthermore, Izanagi is useless against Izanami. If Itachi catches Tobi in Izanami, it's basically game over. But then again, that is IF Itachi is able to. Tobi would just stay in his dimension and that's.... basically it.....
Itachi has a much greater arsenal of ninjutsu/genjutsu which would help him greatly if it was anyone but tobi/obito. Then again, although Tobi/obito does have the advantage in rendering these attacks useless, it also renders him useless to attack as well.... You can't hit someone you can't attack and in this case, it's in both regards.
So, as I said before, this battle is useless. Tobi is just going to stay in his other dimension and itachi is just going to wait for the moment to attack. Boring ass fight if you ask me. Itachi won't attack him head on because he is only fast enough to dodge, not like the 4th who is able to out-speed him. Endless battle. What do you guys think?
